Draw An Abstract

Abstract Art

Drawing abstract art pieces is much simpler than you may think. Although the idea of drawing freely without any previous thought or planning may be overwhelming, if you let the pencil do the planning for you, you'll be surprised at what you can create. Producing a drawing without specific intentions can be thought as creating from "nothingness"; this term does not mean you are creating nothing, it just means your inspiration has no specific intentions. Let your creative spirit be your guide.

Instructions

1. Choose the size of your paper you wish to create your abstract on.

2. Draw random lines and shapes across the paper; this will in turn create other shapes in your drawing.

3. Color in some of the shapes that you have created. Experiment with different pencil pressures; this will create light and dark tones throughout your drawing. The variance in tones will create depth and contours, giving the drawing a more three-dimensional look.

4. Fill in the remaining shapes with random patterns and textures if you don't want to leave any white space on the paper.
