'Fine Visual Arts' are an expression of human comprehension of life depicted in various forms of fine artistic exploits such as sculpture, painting, printmaking etc. The passion with which artists invest their energy and resources into producing their master pieces makes it imperative that they receive skilled and proactive representation of their art work in the public arena and market place.

1. Study fine arts; the market trends, historical and modern art forms and various forms in which fine visual arts are expressed. Acquiring some understanding and appreciation of art, enables one to represent artists with passion and loyalty.


2. Identify the types of art you are interested in representing, the modes and versions available. Make tours to local art fairs and museums to have direct exposure to the art and the respective artist. If possible take art appreciation classes.


3. Set up an authorized enterprise operated as a small business or a private limited company according to one's short term and long term business goals. Produce sincere adverts and business cards to promote your Fine Arts Representation Work. Always make integrity a priority.


4. Get acquainted with local museums and their art exhibition activities and local organizations for artists. Advertise your fine arts representation services in the local news papers, art colleges or graduates, art fairs and also check museum exhibits for artist interested in more representation.


5. Drat a contract and terms of operation that each artist you represent will consent to and include a reasonable commission system whereby your revenue is based on the art pieces sold. This limit the art handling required on you part.


6. Create an album of the artwork as you advertise to companies or museum and carry a few samples. Set up storage brief cases or containers to facilitate shipment of the delicate pieces to and from exhibitions or museums etc. Liaise with local museums and market outlets store management to hold some of the artwork on consignment, to create goodwill and product loyalty.


7. Establish a steady cliental base by remaining proficient and reliable in all your dealings. Keep a proficient record of all business transactions receipts and expenses transmit revenue to the artist as soon as sales occur to keep them motivated. The artist can be your best advertising agents; they can provide with a larger Fine Arts representation base.
