Build A Newsletter

You can design a newsletter on your home computer.

A newsletter is an ideal project for things like company updates or family holiday letters. You can design your own newsletter on your home computer using a basic template, which you can find online for free. Newsletters typically include text on different subjects and sometimes pictures and images, which you can customize on your template to get the look you want. Printing the newsletters on your own printer saves even more costs and gives a personal touch.

Instructions

1. Save any family photos or images you want to use in the newsletter onto your home computer under your Pictures folder. You can find clip art to use online at sites like Clipart Connection or Clipart.

2. Visit a website like Templates Box or Free Newsletters Templates, which offer free newsletter templates to download. Browse the selection of free templates on the site until you find one you like and save it to your computer as a document.

3. Open the saved document to customize. Create a headline at the top and type in the text you want in the designated text boxes, including news boxes, bullet point lists or timelines you may want included in your newsletter.

4. Insert images you want to you use in the newsletter using the Insert tool in the tool box at the top of the page. Browse your Pictures folder until you find the saved images you want to use and insert them onto the page. Click on each image and drag it around the page to place it where you want it to go.

5. Save the finished newsletter and print out as many copies as you like onto your home computer.
