Draw Flames In Paint

Drawing flames in the Microsoft program Paint is pretty easy, especially since Paint comes loaded with all sorts of tools you can use to get different effects. To draw flames in Paint, all you have to do is complete a section at a time, layering the colors until the flames look alive. After you complete your flame drawing, you can save it to your computer or print it.

Instructions

1. Click on the paintbrush tool to begin the basic flame outline. The icon looks like a small, square paintbrush, and the feature will allow you to choose between various thicknesses of brush stroke. Draw small waves that reach upward and meet at a pointed end. Use a good base color for the flame outline, such as orange. Make sure that the outline goes all the way down to the bottom of the screen so that you can fill it with color later.

2. Add another layer of the flame waves, this time inside the larger flame outline that you already drew. Use yellow this time, as the color of flames gets lighter the further in you go. Use the color fill tool, which looks like a small pot of paint tipping over, to fill the flames with orange.

3. Use the spray paint tool, with the scattered spray icon, to mist the tops of the flames with red. Also spray parts of the bottom with yellow and orange, switching off to blend accordingly. If you need to fill in the tiny points of the flames with the spray paint but don't want to go over the lines, you can use the zoom tool to expand the image and fill in the color. The zoom tool looks like a tiny magnifying glass.
