Paint Canvas Chairs

The beach chair has a canvas backing with rainbow stripes.

Canvas is a sturdy material with a soft texture. It is composed mostly of cotton, and it can also contain flax and hemp materials. Canvas chairs typically have a wooden structure with a canvas seat and backing. You may want to paint over the canvas chair in order to have it match the decor of the room. Even though it may seem complicated, you can complete the task efficiently by following simple guidelines and procedures.

Instructions

1. Remove the canvas from the chair and wash it with soap and water. If you cannot remove the canvas, wash the canvas while it is still attached to the chair. Allow the fabric to dry completely before doing anything else.

2. Wet the paint brush, dip it into the textile paint with the color you previously selected and begin to paint the canvas. Make sure to do even brush strokes, and know that sometimes it is difficult to penetrate the crevices in the canvas material.

3. Allow the paint to dry before putting the canvas back on the chair or attempting to sit on the canvas.
