Install Sheeting

Plastic sheeting is commonly used in construction to protect the interior of a house during construction work. The sheeting is used to seal off rooms, cover furniture, cover the floor to protect it from dust and debris and as a weather barrier. The installation method will vary depending on the surface it is being installed on, but you will normally only use two ways to secure the sheeting in place.

Instructions

1. Line up the sheeting to the opening where you want to install it. Use the scissors to cut it to the proper size.

2. Hold up the sheeting to the opening you want to cover and have an assistant hold the sheeting in place. Staple the sheeting in place, putting a staple every 4 inches and on all the corners. If it's a masonry wall use the construction tape to secure the sheeting in place.

3. Cover up the floors by rolling out the sheeting onto the floors and cutting the excess with the scissors. Secure the sheeting in place by using construction tape around the edges and all the seams.

4. Cover up all furniture and items you want to cover with the sheeting. Throw the sheeting over the item and tape the ends of the sheeting together using the construction tape. This will help keep the items free from construction dust and debris.
