Landscape With Yard Art

Yard art comes in a variety of forms and styles.

Yard art ranges from the quaint to the quirky and provides an opportunity to showcase your distinctive personality and tastes on a property. There are as many ways to landscape with yard art as there are types, so use your preferences to determine what works the best for your specific space.

Instructions

1. Browse garden shops, local art galleries, books and magazines for inspiration. Yard art can be anything from a simple stone birdbath to a giant sculpture made of recycled objects.

2. Check with your community's rules and regulations on acceptable landscaping features. Some homeowner associations and city rules limit the types of items that can be displayed in the yard.

3. Purchase the yard art for installation on your property based on your decorating tastes, budget and allowable items.

4. Visualize the perfect location on your property for the pieces of yard art. This is very much a personal preference. It may be helpful to sketch out a plan if you're artistically inclined or to take a photograph of the yard and add the yard art to the picture to see how it will potentially appear.

5. Place the yard art in your planned location. If it doesn't turn out looking the way you envisioned, you can always move it to a new location. This is especially easy if the pieces are small.
