Diy Grass Paint

Consider painting your lawn yourself for a decorative touch during the holidays.

Many people paint the grass in front of the home to show spirit during special events, such as school sporting events or holidays. If your grass is brown or a shade of green you don't find appealing, painting it a vivid green will spice up the appearance while you search for other ways to change the natural look of the landscaping.

Instructions

1. Mow and rake the area of grass you intent to paint. Grass paint lasts until you mow again, so be sure to mow right before you want to apply, for long-lasting results.

2. Select the color you want to paint the lawn. Choose any stencils or patterns you plan to use, and lay them out to get a better picture of what the finished product will look like.

3. Mix the paint according to the directions, and pour it into a garden sprayer. Position the sprayer where you are going to be applying the paint, and push down on the handle directly over the area.

4. Move the sprayer from side to side evenly over the area being painted, spraying 7 to 9 inches away from the ground for the best coverage. Do not spray when the wind is blowing, as the paint will drift away, creating a mess elsewhere in the yard or on patio furnishings.

5. Apply a light layer of paint to the area first, allowing it to dry completely before continuing. Spray additional layers until you have reached the desired shade.

6. Clean the sprayer when finished. Flush out the sprayer with water to avoid paint clogs.
