Doityourself Picture Frames

You can make a picture frame out of different objects.

If you have children, then you know how important it is for the grandparents and relatives to receive updated pictures of them. One way to make the photographs even more special and meaningful is to place them into a handmade picture frame that you can create with your children. You can find all of the items that you need in order to make a 5-by-7 inch handmade frame in a craft supply store.

Instructions

1. Cut out a rectangle from thick cardboard to measure 8 inches wide, 10 inches long. You can use recycled cardboard from your garage or workplace, or you can purchase sheet cardboard from a craft supply store.

2. Cut out a rectangle from the center of the cardboard rectangle to measure 5 inches wide, 7 inches long. This will be the window in which the photograph will be displayed.

3. Apply a thin layer of craft glue around the front surface of the frame.

4. Press objects around the glued frame, such as buttons, sequins, plastic figures, magazine cut-outs, or any other item you would like to add onto the frame. Fill in the entire glued surface with these objects. You can sprinkle glitter over small spaces to fill them in. Allow the glue to dry for 30 minutes.

5. Cut a piece of yarn to measure 14 inches long. Staple one end of the yarn piece onto both top corners of the frame. You can use the yarn to hang up the frame.

6. Tape a photograph into the window with the photo side facing out. You can now display the homemade picture frame or give it to a loved one.
