Copy Mp3 Files To A Cd With The Title And Artist Information

Customizing MP3s has become a simple task, thanks to digital media players that allow users the ability to catalog their songs with the click of a button. If you have an MP3, or a playlist full of MP3s, that you would like to copy to a CD with the title and artist information in tact, you should have little trouble inputting the necessary information. With a few clicks, you can put together a professional music or data CD in no time at all.

Instructions

1. Choose a digital media player that includes a media library. Examples include iTunes, WinAmp, Quicktime and RealPlayer. If you do not know whether your chosen program has a media library, simply open it and look for "Title" and "Artist" fields. If you see this information, then your program has an active media library.

2. After you have selected your software, use it to open your song(s) and notice the fields visible in the program's main window. If no track information is available, you will likely see words such as "Track 1" or "Unknown Artist." Here you can fill in the gaps.

3. See if you can click directly in the "Title" and "Artist" fields and insert your information. Programs like iTunes will allow you to do this. Just click once on the field you wish to edit, wait for it to highlight, then click again and you will have access. In WinAmp, simply double-click in the track info box and you will see editing fields. If your program does not allow you to edit this way, try right-clicking the title and selecting "Track Info" or "Song Info." Also search for "Properties" under the menu bar. In Quicktime, for example, you can access the track information by clicking "Window" in the menu bar and scrolling down to "Show Movie Properties" in the drop-down menu.

4. Insert the correct information into the "Title" and "Artist" fields and press "Enter." Media libraries use ID3 tags to archive artist information, and so your updates will carry over to any other software or CD that receives the file.

5. Burn your song(s) to a CD. Using your selected audio software, organize your songs into a playlist, insert a CD-R or CD-RW into your computer and click the "Burn" or "Copy" option.
