Make A Train Track Table

The train track table is easy to start and fun to refine over time.


For the train enthusiast, assembling a model train track table will keep freight in the miniature world moving. If you lay your track directly on the floor or a carpet, then dust and debris can get caught in small working parts of your set, causing unwanted consternation. A model train track table will place your layout on display while keeping working the parts in top shape. The table is semi-permanent and allows for variations in layout as your layout expands and changes.


Instructions


1. Cut the foam core to fit the top of the table or any other desired dimension with the rubberized non-slip mat utilized to prevent slippage.


2. Place the rubberized mat on the table and lay the foam core on top of it. The foam core is a type of rigid poster board.


3. Lay the track on the foam core in the desired configuration.


4. Fasten the track to the foam core using the track nails.


5. Decorate the foam core using felt, paint and such scenery accessories as stations or buildings.
