Paint My Face To Look Like A Fairy

Painting your face to look like a fairy can be a vibrant effect for any event.

Whether you are celebrating Halloween, a summer event or a holiday, painting your face to look like a fairy is a fun way to express yourself and stand out from the crowd. Cultures in Scandinavia, Canada, Scotland and Great Britain all celebrate Midsummer festivals. During these festivals, people dress up as fantastical creatures such as fairies. The tradition was popularized by William Shakespeare's play, "A Midsummer Night's Dream."

Instructions

1. Mix a few drops of water into the face paint. Cover the brush in face paint. It should have a thick consistency.

2. Start with the eyes, outlining the lid up to the eyebrow and along the lashes, then fill in gently. You can add one color to the eye or paint multiple colors on the lid, crease and upper eye lid. Dip and rinse your brush in between every color.

3. Load the brush with a light color and outline the eyelids. Paint swirls and free form floral designs over the face with the lighter color. Accent the light color and designs with a richer, darker color.

4. Dip the cotton swab into some water and then dip it into the glitter. Accent the designs you drew on the face with the glitter. Add some glitter beneath the eyes, on the eyelids and on the forehead so that the glitter shines in all lights. To clean up excess glitter, dip the other end of the cotton swab in water and wipe it off.

5. Add a color to your lips. Don't add glitter to the lips, this can become messy and could be ingested. Make sure the paint that you are using is safe. When in doubt, use a fun lipstick color instead.

6. Cover the cheeks with a fun and vibrant pink, purple or peach colored blush. Blend the blush upwards toward the ears.
