Cartoon faces are easy to draw.
Making doodles of cartoon faces can be a fun way to pass the time on long car trips and in study hall. You can use your cartoon-drawing skills to decorate your school binder and folders. What's more, if you enjoy it enough you may someday decide to become a cartoonist or an artist. If you think you want to make a career of drawing cartoons one day, remember to practice often and study other cartoons for ideas and inspiration.
Instructions
1. Draw a circle. This is the outline of the face.
2. Draw two small circles side by side horizontally centered in the circle you drew in step 1. Place the small circles approximately in the top 1/3 of the large circle. These circles represent the eyes.
3. Draw a black dot in each eye, representing the pupils. The pupils may be placed either in the center of the eyes, or near the bottom, or at the top, to the left or right, or really anywhere that you like. Note that if the dots are not placed in approximately the same area of each circle, the character you are drawing will look dizzy or confused.
4. Draw a mound beneath the eyes (like an upside down smile), horizontally centered. This is the nose. The bigger the mound, the bigger the nose.
5. Draw a right-side-up smile, beneath the nose.
6. Draw an ear on each side of the face. On the left side of the head, the ear will be a C-shape. On the right side of the ear, it will be a backwards C-shape. These ears may be as large or tiny as you want--the more you exaggerate the features, the more interesting your cartoon face will be.
7. Draw hair on the head. The type of hair you choose to draw is up to you--if the hair is spiky and short, represent it with short, vertical lines standing on top of the head. For curly hair, draw a loopy line all the way over the top half of the head. For long, straight hair, draw a few vertical lines on each side of the head and a few vertical lines through the top of the face (to represent bangs).
