Draw Dragon Ball Z Characters

Draw Dragon Ball Z Characters

Dragon Ball Z is one of the most popular manga there is. Millions of boys and girls around the world follow the story of Goku and his children Gohan and Goten as they protect the world from evil geniuses and wicked villains from episode to episode. Many budding artists also love to draw the various Dragon Ball Z characters, from Goku to Vegeta, Trunks and Tenshinhan.

Instructions

Draw Dragon Ball Z Characters

1. Choose which type of view you want for your Dragon Ball Z characters. If you want to draw them straight on, then your basic structure would be different than the outline for a 3/4 view.

2. Pick a pose for the characters you wish to draw. This will help you determine how best to create your wireframe outline.

3. Draw your wireframe outline beginning with the head. Most Dragon Ball Z (and manga in general) feature round, bulbous foreheads, so begin with a circle and add the face structure underneath.

4. Draw your guidelines so that you know where details are going to be placed. Eyes, ears, nose and mouth should be placed at proportionate distances from the center line and bottom of the forehead guide.

5. Continue sketching the wireframe for the body and for the limbs, following the same pattern of proportions as you go. Be aware of depth at this point: if you want to have your Dragon Ball Z characters throwing a punch toward the viewer, then their fist and arm will be proportionately larger than their other arm.

6. Gradually add in details as you go. Pay attention to pre-existing drawings and pick out defining characteristics (Tien's third eye, for example).

7. Erase guidelines and all other unnecessary designs once you've completed detailing.
