Draw Cartoon People For Kids

Drawing cartoon people doesn't have to be difficult.

Drawing cartoon people can seem difficult to begin with. However, by using lines and shapes and following some easy steps, drawing cartoon people can be simplified. With a little practice you can draw your own cartoon people with confidence.

Instructions

1. Use a pencil to draw a simple stick figure. If you want your cartoon person to be jumping, swimming or just standing still, draw a stick person in that position. Your stick person should consist of simple, straight lines for the arms, legs and body then an oval or circle for the head.

2. Use simple shapes to make up your cartoon person. Draw these shapes over the original stick figure. For example, use an oval shape for the body and rectangles for the arms, legs and feet. Keep the shapes as simple or as complex as you like.

3. Use an eraser to rub out the original lines until you are left with the new shapes. The figure you are left with should now resemble a person.

4. To add clothes simply draw larger rectangles over the the arms and a square over the body to make a T-shirt. Add more rectangles over the legs to create pants. As you add clothes to your cartoon remember to erase the lines that are underneath.

5. Now that your cartoon person has a body and clothes it is time to work on the face. Draw small ovals for the eyes with small circles inside for the pupils. Make a nose out of any shape you like, including a rectangle, circle or triangle, depending on how you want your cartoon to look. Add ears by drawing a half circle on each side of the head and hair by drawing any shape on the top then erasing the lines you have drawn over.

6. To draw the mouth, use a half-moon shape with the straight line at the top, then add teeth by drawing a line across the middle of the mouth and more lines down to make small rectangle teeth.

7. Color in the cartoon by using any colors you want. Draw a design on the T-shirt or add funny hair. Then have a go at drawing some more.
