A fun activity at any age is to draw out words in bubble letters. Bubble letters create a fun effect for any type of card, invitation or banner and don't require a huge amount of time and energy to learn and do. With a little practice, anyone can write in bubble letters and then experiment with different shapes, heights, widths, shadings and additional designs.
Instructions
1. Choose your first word and draw out narrow pencil line letters spaced about 1/2 inch apart.
2. Trace an outline with your pen around the first individual letter about a 1/4-to-3/8 inch away from the pencil letter.
3. Start your second letter by tracing in the same manner, but do not allow your pen to overlap the first letter. It may be helpful to start the bubble of the second letter up against the bubble of the first letter.
4. Continue on around the third letter and any others in the same manner, being sure not to overlap the letter before it.
5. Erase any pencil markings to reveal the frame for each letter. Create any holes needed for letters, such as b, d, p, g, q, a, e and o.
6. Add stylized techniques to the letters by adding "shine" to them with simple curved triangles and rectangles or choose to create shading by applying shading to the letters only on one edge.
7. Practice drawing the bubble letters with the pencil until you are able to visualize the pencil lines in your mind.
