Create texture by gluing felt to bubble letters.
Bubble letters can be used to decorate your child's room with his name or emphasize certain words in handwritten correspondence. The letters have rounded edges and thick lines that make them fun to decorate. Make cut-out bubble letters more eye-catching by adding color, texture and patterns with construction paper, wallpaper and felt. Use glitter and paints for bubble letters that you include in notes.
Instructions
Cut-Out Bubble Letters
1. Trace bubble letters onto poster board and cut them out. Place the cutouts face-down on wallpaper, felt, construction paper or other similar materials that add color, texture and patterns. Choose colors that match or go for a more eclectic look.
2. Trace and cut the letters out of the materials. Glue the material onto the poster board letters.
3. Cut a 12-inch strip of ribbon for each letter. Fold the ribbon in half, pinch and glue to the top of the bubble letter, leaving two ends of ribbon free. Place a nail or small tack where you want to hang the letter, then tie the ribbon in a bow around it, letting the letter hang.
Handwritten Bubble Letters
4. Highlight a few words by turning them into bubble letters. Make sure the ends are rounded and the letters are plump like clouds. Add a shadow effect by drawing a semi-circle shape in the rounded end of each letter on the same side every time (if the light source is on the left, the shadow is on the right.)
5. Add color with paints or glitter. Make sure the outline and shadowing is darker so it doesn't disappear under the color.
6. Allow the paint and glue to dry before moving the paper.
