Draw A Human Face On Ms Paint

Having your portrait done can be an artistic way to capture a moment in time, but it can get expensive and time-consuming. Quickly draw a human face on the computer using the Microsoft Paint software, included with all Windows operating systems. Whether you want the face to look realistic or more like a cartoon avatar is up to you. With a few clicks in Paint, you will be able to put your best face forward.

Instructions

1. Open Microsoft Paint, and click the Paint button in the top left corner of the screen. Select "Properties." Type dimensions into the "Width" and "Height" boxes for the human face workspace, such as "8" for each. Click the "Inches" radio button; this may already be defaulted. Click "OK," and Paint will resize the workspace.

2. Click the "Edit colors" button on the ribbon/toolbar at the top of the screen. Click within the rainbow box to select a skin color for the face. Click "Add to Custom Colors," and click "OK." Note the "Color 1" button on the ribbon changes to the new color.

3. Click the "Brushes" button and select the "Natural pencil" option. Click the "Size" button and select the top or thinnest line.

4. Position the cursor on the white Paint workspace, and draw the basic head shape, such as an oval for a long, thin face or a circle for a smaller face. Draw an arch on each side of the head to serve as the person's ears.

5. Click the "Fill with color" tool, which looks like a paint bucket in the "Tools" section of the ribbon. Click inside the head and ears to fill them with skin color.

6. Select a new color from the "Colors" section of the ribbon or the "Edit colors" button. Click the "Natural pencil" option again, and draw the person's eyes and nose. Select a new color such as blue or green to fill in the person's eyes.

7. Choose a red, pink or brown color, and draw the person's mouth -- either a simple arch for a smile or a bow shape for the lips.

8. Select the "Oil brush" head from the "Brushes" button, the second thickest line from the "Size" button, and a hair color from the "Colors" section. Draw curls, spikes, waves or straight hair. For highlights or a punk look, switch colors and alternate stripes. Skip this step for a bald look.

9. Switch back to the "Natural pencil" and the thinnest line under "Sizes." Choose a slightly darker skin color. Add beauty marks, scars, facial hair or wrinkle lines to the face.

10. Click the Paint button, and select "Save As." Type a name for the face file, and click the "Save" button.
