Draw Different Peace Signs

The peace sign is almost universally recognized.

Almost everyone will recognize a peace sign when they see it: the circle with a "y" shape in the center, divided by another line. But how many peace signs have you seen with a unique twist? Even though the classics are always good, maybe you've considered drawing something a little different with a little more creativity. With a little help, you'll be able to draw peace signs in a few different ways to make them look that much more unique.

Instructions

1. Find some references for inspiration. You can do this online or just by looking around. Choose a few that you like.

2. Draw a circle. If you want the circle to be perfect, then use a compass. Then draw a vertical line from the topmost part of the circle to the bottom. At the middle of the circle draw two more lines, each jutting out toward the bottom at about 45 degrees. You should have drawn an upside-down "y" shape with a line between the "top" (now the bottom) of the "y."

3. Add color to your peace sign. Because many peace signs were used in the 1970's, you can get some inspiration from that era and color it with neon blues, greens, yellows and oranges. Give it a tie die appearance by blurring the colors into one another.

4. Get creative and draw stick figures for each of the "legs" inside the peace sign. These stick figures can even be holding up peace signs.

5. Play around with it. If you want to make it even more different, you can add your own ideas. For example, you could draw small hearts around the peace sign's lines. If not hearts, there are plenty of other symbols. You can also draw ribbons like breast cancer ribbons if you are doing it for a cause.
