Draw A Simpsons Character

Draw a Simpsons Character

The Simpsons are some of the most recognized faces on the planet. Learning to draw various characters from "The Simpsons" is a good way to practice your cartooning and will eventually enable you to draw yourself and your friends as Simpsons characters.

Instructions

1. Start with a circle just right of center of your blank page. Keep the circle to a moderate size and try to make it as round as possible but don't worry about making it perfect.

2. Make a line that extends from the left side of your circle (just below the circle's vertical midway point) and extends for about half the length of your circle's diameter. Round off the end of this line, which is your Simpsons' character's nose, and then continue the nose by returning towards your circle for about half the length of your first line.

3. Place your pen or pencil on the left side of the circle just where the circle starts to arch to the right (about 7/8 to the top of the circle). From this point, draw a second (incomplete) circle that extends from there to the top of the character's nose that you drew.

4. Position your pen or pencil on the bottom of the character's nose and draw a line that angles gently away from the rest of the face to form the top of the mouth. After a distance that's about as long as your first circle's diameter round the line to that it moves back toward the character's first eye. Place a small dot in each of your circles to make eyes.

5. Extend a line upward from your character's right eye (the second, incomplete circle you drew) to make the forehead and head. Make a line that extends from the mouth. Experiment with these two extensions to alter your character's appearance. Also add a small semi-circle next to the first circle you drew to make an ear and fashion the hair the way you want it to look.
