Group pictures into one large frame.
Display the collection of pictures hiding in your phone, digital camera and computer hard drive. Print them out, and set them on the wall in a photo collage wall art design. A collage allows you to use multiple pictures in the same design while wall art not only defines your d cor but also allows your creative masterpiece to be on view for all.
Letters
Design a photo collage as wall art using the alphabet letters. The letters may be of your first name, nickname, favorite sports team or even a message you want to live by, such as "Smile Often." Cut large letters from cardboard to use as backing for the photos. Choose the shots you like the best, or cut out sections you find interesting. Glue the pictures onto the letters overlapping the photos. Hang the letters on the wall in a semi-circle or in a straight line. Bring importance to the wall area by painting it a coordinating color and attaching wood trim to act as a frame.
Memories
Create a wall art memory wall with a photograph collage. Look for frames that contain multiple windows for photographs within the one frame, along with single frames of different sizes. Single frames receive important pictures, such as the wedding or graduation photograph while the multiple window frames receive event photographs. These may be events such as holidays for which you have too many pictures you'd like to limit it to just one, or show a progression, such as a child's pictures from kindergarten to graduation. Use the larger frames to anchor your wall design, and build inward with the smaller and single frame pictures.
Design
Create a wall art design by placing photographs in a collage. The design may be a favorite animal, a flower, a sport or cooking item. For example, a kitchen collage may feature wine bottles while a nursery design presents a storybook character. Stencil the design onto an 11 x 7-inch cardboard, so it will fit within a glass picture frame. Match photographs that correspond to the design, such as a vacation in Tuscany or sitting with friends drinking wine for the wine bottle collage or pictures of your child at the amusement park with the characters and his friends in the storybook collage.
Canvas
Three canvasses become your wall art collage. Examine your photographs for one that would look good enlarged and displayed in a large design. Separate the photograph into three sections, and print them on canvas. Frame the canvas, and hang the three canvasses on the wall with about 2 inches of space between the canvasses. An alternative idea is to paint a canvas the accent color in the room. Arrange and glue photographs on the framed canvasses, and embellish the frame with small items, such as ribbons, seashells, plant leaves or vines, to bring in a room's theme.
