Free Easy Face Painting Ideas for Kids
When you go to a carnival or neighborhood fair, you almost always find a booth with face painting. You do not have to be an artist to come up with some fun designs for face painting. You just need paint, brushes, sponges and a little imagination. Make sure to use paint that is specific for face painting. The next time you have a kids' party, you can have your own face painting table.
Butterfly
A butterfly design is an easy idea for face painting. You should have pictures of the finished design on your table to choose from. For a butterfly, you simply use a dark color to outline the butterfly wings around the eyes down to the cheeks. Use a paint sponge and dab paint inside the outline, leaving the area next to the corner of the eyes and eyelids bare. Blue or pink works well for this. Take another sponge and use a complementary color, like green or orange, and dab the eyelids and corners of the eyes. Use a brush and the outline color again to draw the antenna between the eyes.
Flowers
Flowers are simple to paint. You need just a few colors, and you can create a pretty bouquet. Take a color like blue, and use a brush to apply a small amount of pressure to create a petal. Use another brush and white paint. Cover just about half the petal to create a multi-colored look. You can create leaves the same way by applying a little more pressure to the paint brush for a longer leaf. Paint enough to form a small circle, and you will have your flower.
Balloons
Balloons are easy to paint. You need to use a brush and draw an oval shape. Dab to fill in the color. Draw at least three of these together in different colors. Use another brush and draw the strings, connecting them together.
