Homemade Heart Valentine Cards

A homemade Valentine card is a special way to show your love.

A homemade card means so much to someone you love. Involve your children and help them make homemade cards for a friend, parent or grandparent. Kids love crafting and seeing the reaction when they gift someone with a homemade card. Valentine's Day will be extra special once your loved one sees the thought and time you put into a homemade card.

Instructions

1. Fold a piece of red construction paper into a card. Cut a heart out of aluminum foil and glue it onto the front of the card for a shiny heart greeting. Use a marker to write your message inside.

2. Cut a heart out of card stock and using double-sided tape, secure a miniature sweet treat to it. Write a matching phrase. For example, use miniature lollipops and write "I'm a sucker for you," or a piece of gum and write "I'm stuck on you." Get creative!

3. Create a finger-painted card. On a separate sheet of paper let your kids finger paint a picture. Let it dry, then dab some glue onto it and attach some glitter. Cut hearts out of the finger-painted picture and glue them onto a card made from construction paper.

4. Cut a big heart out of a paper grocery bag. Using a hole punch, punch holes around the edge of the heart. Lace ribbon through the holes and tie the ends into a bow. Write your message in marker on the heart. Decorate with glitter.
