The two-year, full-time advanced diploma of commercial arts (electronic design and interactive media) includes courses in visual communication, multimedia and advertising through which students' skills in computer graphics, animation, typography and website design are developed. Martin College


Students use many computer programs including Acrobat and Photoshop.


Martin College offers a graphic design program which takes 50 weeks and includes 2 courses: the diploma of graphic design and the certificate IV in design. It is possible to be admitted into the course without a portfolio; this will be created over the course of the program. Students use Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop and Acrobat to develop design skills. Other elements of the program include advertising and multimedia.

Raffles College of Design and Commerce


Students have one-to-one tuition from expert lecturers.


At Raffles College of Design and Commerce students can choose to study graphic design through the master of design over one-and-a-half years or the bachelor of design over three years. The master of design is split into three elements--practice, project and dissertation. The bachelor of design includes the two-year associate degree of design. Graphic design students are taught the theoretical and practical skills required in advertising, editorial design, package design and corporate identity. The teaching process including one-to-one tuition.

Shillington College


On completion of the course students have portfolios in both digital and print media.


Shillington College students can take the certificate IV in design, either full time over three months or part time over one year. The program starts with the basics of graphic design using Adobe InDesign before moving on to Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and other computer programs to explore more advanced design concepts. The assessment process includes group discussion, one-to-one critique and written tests. By the end of the program students have a complete print portfolio and digital portfolio.
