Show The Techniques Of Adlerian Counseling

Show the Techniques of Adlerian Counseling

Adlerian counseling is a psychoanalytical theory developed by Alfred Adler. Unlike the Freudian psychotherapy techniques, Adlerian counseling is based on a holistic approach. Adler believed that human behavior is influenced by the environment and goals in life. He also believed that people strive for success and superiority in their lives to overcome feelings of inadequacy with which they are born. Showing the techniques of Adlerian counseling can help improve counseling methods and teach others about different options in counseling.

Instructions

1. Research Adlerian counseling techniques. It is only possible to show the techniques after full research is completed. Though the basic ideas behind Adler's theories was that people are goal-oriented and behave according to society or family expectations, the techniques vary and change throughout time. Knowing all of the techniques as they are applied in counseling is necessary.

2. Select the method of showing the audience the techniques. Methods can vary from creating a website that explains the technique, giving a speech at a seminar to putting on a play or skit that shows a dramatization of Adlerian counseling.

3. Look at the audience. The audience you are presenting to will determine the delivery method of your message. For example, an audience of parents would need examples and displays that demonstrate apply the techniques to children, while an audience of psychology students would need several examples on applications for various situations, such as family groups, children or individuals.

4. Set up the display to show the audience the techniques. The setup will differ based on the presentation method. For example, making a website will require typing up the information, providing appropriate pictures or videos and giving as many examples as possible. A short skit will require getting other actors, writing a script and creating a background for the skit.
