Face Paint A Cheek

Face painting cheeks can be done from home.

Face painting is an enjoyable aspect of carnivals, theme parks and Halloween celebrations. You can choose to paint the entire face; however, many people enjoy having a simple decoration on the cheek. Instead of paying someone else to paint your face, you can have a friend or family member help you decorate your face from home. For a person who is unsure of his or her artistic talents, stencils and designs are available to use as starting points for face painting cheeks.

Instructions

1. Choose face paint that is designed specifically for face painting. Using regular acrylic or latex paints can leave the skin dry, irritated and will not last as long as specially designed paints (Reference 1).

2. Clean the cheek thoroughly to remove remaining makeup, dirt or oil that can interfere with the paint. Allow the cheek to dry completely before painting.

3. Pin hair away from the face to prevent the hair from interfering with the painting process.

4. Hold the skin of the cheek slightly taut so that you have a firm surface to paint.

5. Paint the desired design onto the cheek. You can use stencils and premade designs, or you can freelance and create an image of your own.

6. Rise the brushes and sponges thoroughly between different colors to avoid improperly mixing colors (Reference 1).
