Make Autograph Cards

Whether you enjoy collecting autographs from celebrities, sports players, politicians or other famous folks, keep track of your hobby with autograph cards. Instead of little slips of paper collecting everywhere, you can make your own autograph cards featuring the people right along side their signatures. Use your computer’s Paint software program, which comes installed along with your system setup, to quickly make cards you can use to go out and seek stars’ John Hancocks.

Instructions

1. Open Paint, pull down the "File" menu and click "Open." Browse to where you have a celebrity photo located on your computer and double-click the file name. The photo opens in the Paint workspace.

2. Click the "Select" tool, which looks like a rectangle made of dotted lines. Draw a square around the part of the photo to use for the autograph card or surround the entire photo. Press the "Ctrl" and "C" keys together on your keyboard to copy the image into Paint’s memory.

3. Pull down the "File" menu again and click "New." If Paint asks to save your photo, click "No."

4. Pull down the "Image" menu and click "Attributes." Set the size for your autograph cards, such as 4 inches by 6 inches, and click "OK." A blank, white workspace appears.

5. Press the "Ctrl" and "V" keys to paste in the copied photo. Drag it into place on the card.

6. Click the "Text" tool, which looks like an "A" and click underneath or next to the photo. Type the person’s name.

7. Click the "Line" tool and draw a line underneath the person’s name; leave enough room so they’ll be able to sign without having their writing squished on the page.

8. Add another line, to be used to mark the date you captured the autograph. This step can be optional.
