Adobe Photoshop is at the forefront of the creation of digital art. Users can manipulate images or craft their own from scratch. There are hundreds of effects and tools that come with the program, and thousands more created by other digital artists and programmers available online.

Creating Digital Art in Photoshop Open."
2. Unlock your background in the "Layers" palette to the right of your canvass. You can create a different-colored background by selecting "Edit -> Fill" and choosing a new one.
3. Experiment with the various tools, brushes and palettes in the program. You can create streaks and lines in a number of sizes and shapes by using the "Brush Tool" as a paint brush, and you can convert anything you make into a brush for later use. You can blur your brush strokes in a variety of ways or just blur edges with the "Blur Tool." You can create a scratchy, faded effect on an existing image by using a small size with the "Erase Tool." There are far too many tools and effects to list here, so the best thing to do is experiment with all of them and decide which you like.
4. Bring in outside images for use with your own art. By selecting "File -> Place" in the control menu, you can place any photograph or image you have on your computer into a Photoshop document and mix it into the same canvass where you were making things from scratch. You can also resize the image or crop out just a small part of it using the "Magnetic Lasso Tool" and "Pen Tool."
5. Use the assorted filters offered in Photoshop to alter both photographs and your own work. They can help match the two elements together and create an entirely different artistic feel. Also try out different blend modes to see how different colors in your work mix together to create new effects. You can control the blend mode of a layer or a single selection within the "Layers" palette by right-clicking (Control+ on a Mac) on the layer and choosing blend options.
6. Make new layers often. Photoshop is not always incredibly intuitive when it comes to moving objects around your canvas or applying effects to certain objects but not others. Creating a new layer for each element of your artwork allows you to control each element individually, and helps your work flow. You can create new layers by selecting "Layer -> New" in the Control menu.
