Bead On Bottles

Make a bottle more decorative by applying beads.

When you are finished using wine or olive oil bottles, you may simply toss the used bottles into the garbage or recycling. However, you can also use glass bottles as a decorative accent in your home by applying a few craft materials. For example, by covering a glass bottle with colorful beads, you can make it look like a highly decorative accent piece imported from another country. This can be an inexpensive way to add color and interest into your room.

Instructions

1. Cover the surface on which you will be working with a drop cloth to prevent glue from adhering to it. You can find a drop cloth at any hardware store. If you have difficulty finding a drop cloth, you can lay down a vinyl tablecloth, newspaper or craft paper.

2. Place a clean, dry glass bottle onto the drop cloth.

3. Squeeze a pea-sized dollop of glitter glue onto the outside of the glass bottle, and press a medium-sized jewel bead onto the glitter glue dollop. Hold the bead in place for 3 minutes so that the glitter glue can adhere to the bead and hold it in place, then allow the glue to dry for 10 minutes.

4. Repeat the process to add as many medium-sized jewel beads as you prefer. Space the beads out evenly over the surface of the bottle. Allow the glitter glue to dry for 10 minutes before moving on.

5. Squeeze a tiny dollop of glitter glue onto a small wooden bead, and press the glued bead onto the glass bottle in between the jewel beads. Hold the small bead in place for 3 minutes to allow the glitter glue to adhere to the bead, then allow the glitter glue to dry for 10 minutes.

6. Repeat the process until the spaces between the jewel beads are filled in with small wooden beads. Again, allow the glitter glue to dry for 10 minutes before displaying your beaded bottle.
