Draw images of people in Microsoft Paint.
Microsoft Paint is the bare-bones graphic editor that comes with Microsoft Windows. Its so simple that you may think that you can't do anything very artistic on it except for maybe some doodles, but you can draw anything, including people. Since MS Paint is so much simpler than the graphic editors such as Photoshop, or Paint Shop Pro, drawing people will take more time and effort, but you will get the same result in the end.
Instructions
1. Go to your "Start" menu and then to "Accessories" and "Paint" to launch Microsoft Paint. Open up a picture to look at as a reference right in the program (if you want). To keep your reference in a convenient location in the program, drag the bottom right corner of the canvas over to make it larger and select the reference image with the "Select" tool. Drag the image over to the right so that you have plenty of room to draw. This way, you can just drag the bottom corner back over when you are done so you just have your drawing on the canvas.
2. Click on the "Curve" tool in the toolbox. Start the line and drag it to create the outline of the face or figure. Click anywhere in the middle of the line and drag it to create curves such as the curves of a face or the human body. To help you draw a face in the realistic proportions, draw a cross that intersects right at the middle of the head (if they are facing forward).
3. Connect any open areas between the curved lines with the brush or pencil tool or just make a smaller curved line. Hit "Edit" then "Undo" if you make a mistake.
4. Go to "View," "Zoom" and "Custom" to choose a percentage to zoom in on your lines. Use the pencil and eraser tools to clean up any messy or stray pixels and to add definition. Draw in the details such the flecks in the irises of the eyes.
5. Click on the eraser in the toolbox. Replace the color of the outline with a flesh color by double-clicking on the secondary color in the color palette, choosing "Define Custom Colors." Then drag the crosshair and arrow around until you find the color you want (like a brown or dark beige). Right-click and drag the mouse over the lines to change their color. Skip these next steps if you want your drawing black and white.
6. Select the "Fill With Color" tool and choose the color you want as the as the main skin color. Right click on the area to flood it with that color. Shade by choosing a color that is two or three shades darker than the main color. Deepen the shading by putting another color over that that is two or three shades darker. Color and shade the eyes and other features this way.
