Search For An International Address

Finding an international address is much easier now than it was a decade ago.

Sometimes finding an international address is as easy as contacting that country's national post office, which will have the resources to help you find a complete mailing address. Most of these services are also offered online in a variety of different languages.

The Search

Often all that is needed to narrow down your search is a full name and a ZIP code.

To begin an address search, you will need the full name of the person or business that you are looking for. The city and state, region or province is also helpful. If you have a name and a postal code, post offices have a "reverse address search" option that can find the addresses assigned to that ZIP code. Most countries and regions also have their own "411" option to use, both by phone or on-line.

Considerations

A social netowkring site can help you connect with others, but often have little information available regarding addresses.

Social networking sites like MySpace or Facebook can be useful when undertaking an address search for a specific individual or business. Online messenger services like MSN and Yahoo can also be helpful. However, most of these sites are only usable by members and posting too much detailed information, including a location or mailing address, is not advisable.

Features

Most countries use ZIP codes or postal codes, They can be placed before the name of the state as well as after the name of the country. Some features of international addresses are the same worldwide, such as placing the country last and the street address immediately beneath the company or individual name.
