Hang multiple photographs on canvas in a group as wall art.
With today's digital cameras, photographs are everywhere. Canvases are no longer for oil paintings. Digital photos are being displayed on canvases and hung on walls as art. There are plenty of printing companies that can print your photos straight on a canvas. New technology has made the pricing reasonable. If you would like to do it yourself, you can personalize it to your decor and taste.
Instructions
1. Coat the canvas with a thin layer of Mod Podge using one of the foam brushes. Include the sides of the canvas.
2. Wait 20 minutes for it to dry.
3. Paint a thin, second layer of Mod Podge on one side of the canvas. Lay the wax paper on your work surface. Lay a piece of the decorative paper that matches the size of the canvas side you painted face down on the wax paper. Coat the back of the paper with a layer of Mod Podge.
4. Place the paper on the side of the canvas. Smooth the paper so that there are no wrinkles or bubbles.
5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for the remaining 3 sides of the canvas. If the paper does not meet up on the corners, it is OK. You will cover it with paint.
6. Place the photo face down on a clean section of the wax paper. Apply a generous layer of Mod Podge on the back of the photo.
7. Flip the photo over, line it up with the front of the canvas and place on the canvas surface. Place the rag or towel over the photo so you can press the photo down and smooth it without your fingerprints getting on the photo. Smooth until the photo is completely flush with the canvas.
8. Coat the front of the photo on the canvas with Mod Podge. It goes on cloudy but will dry clear. Wait 20 minutes for it to dry.
9. Dip the second foam brush into acrylic paint. Blot the excess paint off on the wax paper. Lightly dab paint along the edges and corners of the canvas. Wipe off any paint that gets on the photo.
