Draw Anime Vampires

Anime is a type of animation that's derived from Japanese manga comics. Creating anime and manga characters has become a real craze, among young people in particular. Anime exhibits many substyles, raging from extremely animated, chubby characters to more polished and realistic images. You can adapt your own unique methods of creating characters done in this fun and popular art form. You can create a charming yet slightly macabre anime vampire simply by adding a few personal touches to an anime boy or girl.

Instructions

1. Draw a circle the approximate size you want the head of your anime character to be. Next create a chin by drawing an upside-down triangle at the bottom of the circle. The distinct shape and size of this triangle will determine the shape of the face.

2. Draw in guidelines for the placement of the facial features. The lines should meet approximately 1/3 of the way up from the chin. This step is helpful for the eye placement—eyes should be drawn just above the horizontal guideline.

3. Draw eyes on your vampire. Eyes are a particularly important part of an anime character; they are vital to portraying emotion. Anime eyes are usually made up of slightly rounded rectangles. The iris can fill the entire eye area, or it can be large with white or black pupils. Round white spots can be left open to show the reflection of light. For sad anime characters, a large oval tear can be placed at the bottom of the eye. If you want your vampire to be devious, slash the eyebrows upward at the corners for that scheming look.

4. Draw hair on your vampire. Common hairstyles are spiked and with long layers. Hair that hangs partially over the face is suitable for vampire characters--choose one side of the face to start from and add your layers in a downward pattern. Add ears while drawing the hair; rings or metallic dots can create piercings.

5. Draw in the remaining features: You can add a nose if desired, either in the form of an outline or a single bump. Some expressions don't need a nose, and can instead be replaced with anger or blush lines. Mouths can be straight or slanted lines, with one or two little fangs showing. Add a bit of blood on the chin if desired.

6. Draw clothes on your vampire. Add a black cloak for a classic vampire look. Outline your anime vampire with black pencil or pen, then color him using colored pencils, watercolor paints or markers.
