Draw A Grim Reaper

Drawing cartoon figures is relatively simple and usually only takes a few tries for positive results. Draw a Grim Reaper using a few tips and tricks below. Draw lightly with pencil, keeping in mind that any of the lines can be erased later.

Instructions

1. Have a clear image of what is being drawn. Either have a physical image to reference or be familiar enough with the figure to be able to see the figure clearly, including details, in the imagination.

2. Begin the Grim Reaper by quickly sketching the rough body in lines and adding a rough oval shape for the head. What is important in this step is to get the stance or position of the figure. In this case, the figure will be standing straight with one arm slightly bent at the elbow and the other bent with one had on the scythe.

3. Add clothing after being satisfied with the position of the figure. For a Grim Reaper, he will wear an extra long robe with a hood and long sleeves showing the hands only. Pay close attention to wear the fabric would fold and wrinkle in places such as the elbow, and at the floor.

4. Use basic oval shapes to draw each of the parts of the fingers of the hand. Pay close attention to the fingers that wrap around the scythe. The fingers should look particularly long and bony for a Grim Reaper.

5. Shade in the opening of the hood. This is where the face or skeleton would be. The creepiest thing about the Grim Reaper is that his face is never seen.

6. Finish the scythe in the Reaper's hand. It will be a huge curving blade that stands at the Reaper's head on a stick reaching to the ground.

7. Erase original, unnecessary lines. These will be the lines of the legs and arms that can not be seen under clothes.
