Draw A Gingerbread Man

Drawing can be a lot of fun, and can be useful in many ways. It calms the mind, can be very therapeutic and can give one a sense of accomplishment and pride. You can also use drawing to make one-of-a-kind decorations or show pieces. One great example of a thing to draw is a gingerbread man.

Instructions

1. Place your paper squarely in front of you and choose the drawing utensil you would like to use to draw the gingerbread man.

2. Draw a circle to form the shape of the head about two-thirds of the way up the page. The size of the circle will depend on how large you would like the character's head. Remember to leave room to make the body proportionate in size to give the gingerbread man a more realistic look.

3. Add the gingerbread man's body in a basic star-like shape. Again make sure that all limbs and the body itself are proportionate.

4. Sketch the gingerbread man's facial features, such as eyes and mouth, and then add buttons to his body and draw the hands and feet.

5. Shade the colors around the eyes, mouth and buttons to show a three-dimensional look to them. These pieces are made of candy on a real gingerbread man and should look like they are on top of the cookie instead of part of it. Covered in icing, the hands and feet need to show depth and texture.

6. Use shading around the edges of the gingerbread man to give him a rounded and thick look. Add highlights and texture to bring realism to the character.

7. Create finishing touches by drawing crumbs or a plate around your gingerbread man.
