Draw An Anime Teenager

A teenager's body is less defined than an adult's.

The teenage style is often drawn in anime; adults appear in supporting roles such as a parents or teachers. Learn first to draw the basics of an anime teenager and then create style through the character's personality. Anime teenagers are known to be charming, witty, heroic and stylish. The main difference between a teenager's body and an adult body is the lack of muscles for the males and that the females' hips are not as curvy as an adult female's.

Instructions

1. Draw an action line to determine the action of the teenager; for example, if the teenager is leaning against a wall the action line will be a slanted vertical line to represent the back against the wall and the legs extending out.

2. Sketch in the basic shapes along the action line to represent body parts. Draw an egg shape for the head and circles for the hands and feet.

3. Create an oval shape for the female teenager's body to represent the chest and hips. The shape should slightly taper down to create curved hips.

4. Create a barrel shape that does not taper down for the teenage male's chest.

5. Add details to the body's form without creating excess muscles.

6. Sketch the hair as having one large area. Create a second shape for ponytails.

7. Go over any main lines and adjust if needed, then trace over with a pen. Erase other lines, such as the action line.
