Iconic body shapes appear primarily on the signs for men's and women's restrooms. This type of drawing is useful for any independent store owner needing to make a sign pointing customers to the correct bathroom. This is also useful instruction for anyone making a mock crime/murder scene and who wishes to draw the outline of the body as it fell to the ground.
Instructions
1. Draw an oval, more rounded at the top and pointed at the bottom. This is the head.
2. Draw two lines extending from the bottom of the head. This is the neck.
3. Draw the two lines of the neck flaring out at the end where the neck meets the shoulders, and extend the two lines of the shoulders down to the arms. The width of the shoulders will be approximately as wide as three heads, side by side.
4. Draw downward at the arms. Draw a straight line to the end of the arms.
5. Turn the corner at the end of the arms and draw back up the inside of the arms to the spot where the arms meet the body. The arms will be approximately the length of two-and-a-half heads stacked end to end.
6. Turn the line around at the body and draw down the sides to the feet. The length of the body from the shoulders to the feet will be approximately twice the length of the arms.
7. Make a 90-degree turn outward at the feet. Draw to the end of the feet and then curve the line and head back the way you came to draw the undersides of the feet.
8. Draw upward inside the legs, until the lines meet.
