The 3-D abstract art piece causes you to reflect upon its meaning and value, as it is not a clear depiction of reality.
Creating abstract art can be a complicated endeavor, as the artist creates a visual landscape that deliberately shifts from reality, allowing the viewer to perceive any number of meanings within the art itself. Taking the next step to create abstract art that is 3-dimensional brings an even higher degree of difficulty. Abstract 3D art can be created using several different methods, including the categories of digital, painting, sketching or creating something in the real world, such as a sculpture.
Instructions
1. Decide what medium you wish to use. General options include graphic design (digital creation), canvas art, paper and ink, photography and sculpture.
2. Envision a general idea of what abstract 3-D art you wish to create. This will aid in choosing what supplies need to be gathered, such as what colors of paint need to be purchased or what materials need to be salvaged from a scrap yard.
3. If creating a digital art piece, obtain a software program compatible with your computer. Free options are available for download online (see Resources below), but typically, the most powerful software programs need to be purchased.
4. For other art forms, gather or purchase the supplies required, such as a blank canvas or paper, brushes, paint, pens and pencils. For sculpted art, gather supplies that will be used in your art form. These could include items around your home, scrap from discarded or completed projects, such as wood or sheet metal, and a medium for connecting the pieces together, such as glue or string.
5. Set aside a block of time to focus on your project with a clear mind. If creating digital abstract 3-D art, sit at your computer and learn the ins and outs of the software program you have chosen. For other art forms, begin construction or painting, feeling free to alter your course during the creation process.
