The underwater sea current may be depicted by having sea life bend.
Drawing an underwater sea picture is a matter of drawing what is seen underwater. Just as in drawing a landscape, the artist looks for shapes, light and shade. Instead of drawing oval shapes for a rock, draw oval shapes for sea coral. Current may be depicted the same as wind by having plant life, like kelp, bending against the flow of the current. An artist can create underwater scenery without adding anything above or showing the line where water meets the surface.
Instructions
1. Place an image of an underwater sea in a place that is easy to view for reference.
2. Sketch in shapes, such as ovals for fish and rocks and rectangles for sea kelp. Add details to the shapes, such as a mouth for the fish and the sea kelp bending to the current.
3. Sketch in bubbles coming from the fish mouth and rising to the surface. Create wavy lines and shading to the floor to represent sand.
4. Sketch a wavy line at the top of the paper to represent the surface. Draw diagonal lines coming down to represent sun light shining through the water. Add an element to the top of the surface, such as a boat or pelican.
