1. Crochet the body with gray yarn. Chain seven. For row one, do a single crochet in second chain from hook and then do five more single crochets across. For row two, do two single crochets in each stitch around. For row three, do two single crochets in first stitch and then one single crochet in next stitch. Repeat until all the way around. For row four only work in back loops and single crochet in each stitch around. For rows five through eleven, single crochet in each stitch around. For row 12, single crochet two stitches together then single crochet in next stitch and repeat all the way around. Finish off and stuff the body.
2. Crochet the head with the gray yarn. Chain seven. For row one, do a single crochet in second chain from hook and then do five more single crochets across. For row two, do two single crochets in each stitch around. For row three, do two single crochets in first stitch then one single crochet in next stitch and repeat until all the way around. For row four, do two single crochets in first stitch then one single crochet in the next two stitches and repeat until all the way around. For row five, do two single crochets in first stitch then one single crochet in the next three stitches and repeat until all the way around. For rows six through ten, do a single crochet in each stitch around. For row 11, single crochet two stitches together then single crochet in next three stitches and repeat until all the way around. For row 12, single crochet two stitches together then single crochet in next two stitches and repeat until all the way around. For row 13, single crochet two stitches together then single crochet in next stitch and repeat until all the way around. Stuff the head. For row 14, single crochet two stitches together all the way around and finish off.
3. Crochet ears with white and gray yarn. With the white yarn, chain two then do three single crochets in second chain from hook. Chain one and turn. Do two single crochets in each stitch then finish off. With the gray yarn, join with single crochet in the corner of the white and then do two single crochets in each stitch. Finish off. Repeat this process for the second ear.
4. Crochet legs and arms with the gray yarn. For row one, chain two and then do four single crochets in second chain from hook. For row two, do two single crochets in each stitch all the way around. For row three work in the back loops. Single crochet in each stitch all the way around. For rows four through six, single crochet all the way around. Stuff then finish off. Repeat three more times to make remaining leg and arms.
5. Crochet nose with black yarn. Chain three then do two single crochets. Chain one and turn. Do two single crochets then chain one and turn. Single crochet two stitches together then finish off. Sew nose onto face with the embroidery needle and floss. Sew black buttons on for the eyes.
6. Assemble the koala. Sew ears on the side of the head with the embroidery floss and needle. Weave in ends. Sew the legs and arms onto the side of the body with the embroidery needle and weave in ends.
